- Help with NGS data analysis for Agilent Genomics customers using Agilent Bioinformatics platforms.
- Work with Agilent Bioinformatics platform and tools to develop and customize NGS data analysis pipelines, and reports for Laboratories to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Fixing and customizing data analysis files, pipelines, algorithms and tools.
- Work closely with Internal Stakeholders like Product Owners, R&D, Marketing.
- Work with External Stakeholders such as Bioinformaticians, Clinical geneticists, laboratory scientists.
- Expertise in building, implementing, and/or using clinical genomics analysis, interpretation, and reporting software
- Detailed knowledge of human genetics, next-generation sequencing methods, variant calling pipelines and annotation tools.
- Possesses strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to present sophisticated scientific principles to software engineers and other members of multi-functional teams

Job Description
We’re looking for a highly motivated Bioinformatics scientist to join our Genomics Services team to help on Agilent’s Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) Services in Australia.
The candidate will work with Agilent NGS platform. The job includes customizing data analysis and variant assessment workflows-providing services from raw reads to drafting reports, reducing workflow complexity and time.
As a part of the team, you will assist customers with secondary and tertiary NGS data analysis to efficiently prioritize, curate and report genomic variants.
This role serves as a point of contact on Collecting, Analyzing, and Troubleshooting data from Genetic and Molecular Laboratories. The candidate may deliver customer training/demos via WebEx. Works closely with Sales, Marketing, and R&D teams.
Qualifications
Degree in Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology or related field.
Experience with one of Python, R, Java or similar software languages
Knowledge of API Testing tools like Postman
Solid understanding of the Linux operating system
Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS) architecture and concepts.
Familiarity with Atlassian tools like Confluence, JIRA and Bitbucket/Git.
Knowledge of reporting tools like Jasper Reports or Crystal reports
Solid understanding of the Next-generation sequencing (NGS) workflows
Strong working knowledge of common genome analysis toolkits like GATK and BWA, as well as standard data formats common in the genomic analysis industry like FASTQ, FASTA, BCL, VCF, BAM, etc.
Experience/Education:
Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years of experience; or equivalent experience.
